View liveSage Sustainable Electronics eCommerce Storefront
Sage Sustainable Electronics specializes in responsible resale and recycling of enterprise technology equipment. Their Shopify storefront is the primary sales channel for refurbished hardware, serving businesses and individuals looking for sustainable alternatives to new technology purchases.
I rebuilt the Sage storefront contracted via ComResource ahead of the 2020 holiday season, a fixed deadline with real commercial stakes leading up to Black Friday, missing that window would have meant lower sales or missing sales entirely during the most significant sales period of the year. The work included cleaning and migrating their existing inventory data to align with the new theme structure, customizing the theme using Liquid templating to meet their branding requirements and functional needs, and integrating their existing plugins into the new storefront without disrupting the operation workflow they already had in place.
The time constraint shaped everything about how this project was approached, scope decisions, what to customize versus what to accept as a Shopify default, and how to sequence the inventory migration without creating gaps in their ability to sell. Getting the new storefront live on a hard deadline with a real inventory at stake is a different kind of project from the ones I had worked previously where the timeline had room to move, and it is an experience I am glad to have been through as it's helped me in my more recent work where deadlines are immovable.
